WPT LAPC: Sunday Massacre at Commerce

FPM logo

In America, many will soon feel the effects of the term “bracket buster” when one of our picks in the NCAA Basketball March Madness tournament falls to a lower seeded team, ruining our chances at winning the office pool.

Europeans may soon be heartbroken when their club gets eliminated during the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.

We all feel it as fans and as fantasy players.  We’re heartbroken, disappointed, shamed by our friends, etc.  Poker’s version of “bracket busting” was certainly felt by many of you Fantasy Poker Manger players on Sunday at the Commerce Casino as tons of the biggest names in poker exited the casino with nothing to show for their performances at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic.

From WPT Champions Club members: Matt Salsberg, McLean Karr, Matt Giannetti, J.C. Tran, Josh Hale, Lee Markholt, Tommy Vedes, Taylor von Kriegenbergh, Shawn Buchanan, Barry Greenstein, Andras Koroknai, Bertrand Grospellier, Eric Hershler, David Chiu and Gavin Griffin to some of the most popular players in the game: Mike Matusow, Kyle Julius, Mike Leah, Tony Dunst, Tristan Wade, Phil Hellmuth, Owen Crowe, Chad Brown, Brian Rast, Bryn Kenney, Chris Tryba, Dan Kelly, Christian Harder, Allen Kessler, David Baker, John Racener, Jake Balsiger and Fabrice Soulier, to WPT Ones to Watch Brian Hastings, Amanda Musumeci, Alex Phahurat, Jason Koon and Jason Somerville to the defending LAPC champ himself, Sean Jazayeri, it was a bloodbath rarely seen in poker circles, over 40 of FPM’s top players gone by the way side after what can only be described as the Sunday Massacre for Fantasy Poker players here at the Commerce Casino.

But the news isn’t all bad.  If you invested in players like WSOP National Champion Ryan Eriquezzo, former WPT World Champion Scott Seiver, Justin Young, Sam Stein, Randy Ohel or Trevor Pope, you’ve invested in a player with a Top 10 stack as Monday play is set to begin in an hour here in Los Angeles.

So FPM players, it’s time to pick yourselves up, dust yourselves off and hope for the best as Day 3 action is set at the WPT LAPC!
