WSOP Day 10: Volpe Vanquishes Negreanu

WSOP Event 12 Results

This $1,500 Pot Limit Hold’em event at the 2014 World Series of Poker started with 557 players and a $751,950 prize pool.

Day 2 started with 69 players, burst through the money bubble, and ended the night with the nine final tablists.

Gregory Kolo led the final table at the start on June 5, and as other departed, Kolo remained strong. He took a lead into the heads-up match against Kazu Oshima and declared victory just a few hands later.

WSOP Event 13 Results

This was a $10K No Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship event with a total of 87 players and $817,800 prize pool.

Day 2 started with only 36 survivors and whittled that field down to the final table of seven.

Paul Volpe led the final table on June 5, but players like Jason Mercier and Daniel Negreanu were nearby and hungry. But Mercier ended up taking third, and Volpe took the lead into heads-up against Negreanu, the latter of whom sought his sixth WSOP bracelet. But after 85 hands, Volpe finally transformed his constant lead into victory.

WSOP Event 14 Update

The $1,500 Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Split-8 event was the sole June 4 started and attracted a big crowd of 1,036 players for a $1,398,600 prize pool.

Day 2 started with 220 players but worked its way into the money so the top 117 finishers could begin payouts. Some who cashed included Marcel Luske, Eric Baldwin, Susan Genard, Stephen Chidwick, and Dan Kelly. By 11pm, there were still 43 runners and Kal Raichura appeared to be the chip leader, just as he was at the start of the day.

WSOP Event 15 Update

The first of two tournaments starting on June 5 was a $3K NLHE Six-Handed event, which brought in 810 players. The prize pool was then set at $2,211,300, out of which the top 90 would be paid.

As Level 9 got underway, there were just a few more than 200 players still in and Andreas Hoivold was the chip leader.

WSOP Event 16 Update

The late-starting event of June 5 was a $1,500 Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball, and there were 348 interested players. The subsequent prize pool was $469,800, though the exact payouts had not yet been released at the time of this posting.
