WSOP Main Event: Keep an Eye on Bojang

FPM logoNOTE: This article is being released days before lineups are due for the World Series of Poker Main Event. Be sure to verify this player’s status when lineups are due.

The Global Poker Index will be providing a series of articles on players to keep an eye on and add to your FPM teams for the WSOP Main Event – which is now only days away! The series will culminate with the one player you should consider making the move on – my pick to win the World Series of Poker Main Event.

Ismael Bojang 2 FPMWith the successes of David “Bakes” Baker (GPI#104), Daniel Kelly (GPI#112) and a few others this summer at the World Series of Poker, it’s easy to overlook one German pro who’s also been having a summer to remember here at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Ismael Bojang (GPI#89) may not be the first player you think of when you think of the biggest names in German poker – but his six cashes so far this summer should serve as notice that poker in Germany is thriving and it extends far beyond the Gruissems and the Rettenmaiers.

Four of Bojang’s six cashes have been in the Top 25, including an eighth place finish in Razz Event #33 and a 12th place score to kickoff the series in NLH Event #2. Bojang also finished 21st at the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo just a few short months ago. His 2013 season kicked off in grand fashion when he won the 10K PLO Championship at EPT Deauville in early February.

Are his six scores already this summer a sign of what’s to come in the Main Event? We will soon find out.

At a current FPM Market Price of a little under 200K, Bojang doesn’t come cheap – but his strong showing so far at the WSOP justifies the higher than average price.

  • Has quietly had a great WSOP so far

  • His price tag won’t break the bank
