July 19, 2017 World Poker Rankings

THIS WEEK’S NOTEBOOK

›› A successful summer in Las Vegas sees Adrian Mateos (World #4) reach another career-high ranking; he’s now three steps away from becoming the first Spanish player to be ranked #1 in the World

›› A second consecutive deep run in the WSOP Main Event helps Belgian star Kenny Hallaert (World #159) recoup some of the points lost from last year’s November Nine finish, moving up close to 100 spots in the standings

›› Speaking of Main Event runs, many players who ran deep rose in the rankings, including Argentina’s Richard Dubini (World #108) and American Scott Stewart (World #150), who make a return to the GPI300

›› Congratulations go out to French player Alexandre Reard (World #181), Americans Ryan Leng (World #253) and Vincent Moscati (World #298) and Canada’s Demo Kiriopoulos (World #281) for entering the GPI300 for the very first time of their careers
