WPT Barcelona: Keep an Eye on Lauri Pesonen

FPM logoNOTE: This article has been released prior to the end of Day 1 play at WPT Barcelona.  UPDATE: Pesonen ended Day 1A play with 103K in chips, one of the top stacks of the day, assuring his place in Day 2 action.

Just a few days after a deep run at the WPT Venice Grand Prix, Finnish poker pro Lauri Pesonen (GPI#786) is at it again in the early stages at the bwin WPT Barcelona.

Pesonen finished in 15th position in Venice after contending for the longest time.  But this was not the first time this year that Pesonen enjoyed success on the World Poker Tour.  Back in late February, Pesonen enjoyed a 14th place finish at WPT Baden in during the Austrian Poker Festival.

The Finn also had a successful EPT London in March with a 34th place finish in the Main Event followed by a victory in the 2K NLH 8-Handed event.

Currently on dinner break, Pesonen holds about 55,000 chips (from his original 30K starting stack) at last report.  After so many successful runs in the past 10 weeks, look for Pesonen to keep the hot streak going with a deep run here in Barcelona.  Obviously, you’ll need to take a look at his chip stack at the end of the day before officially adding him to your club … reminder, players eliminated on Day 1A can re-enter the tournament on Day 1B Saturday.

With a current FPM Market Price of 10,500, Pesonen could fit right into your winning lineup!

Why should I add Pesonen to my team?
> On a 10-week heater
> After big EPT side event win, looking to lock-up first major title
> Great value for a hot commodity
