Heads-Up at Aria, WSOP-C Final Table Ready

Aguiar and Cantu Battle

During the 2012 World Series of Poker Europe in Cannes, the final heads-up match of the €10,000 Mixed Max tournament took place between Jon Aguiar and Brandon Cantu. When the casino closed, however, the match had to be delayed, and when they resumed more than a full day later, Cantu lost and was quite displeased about it, to say the least. He felt he was robbed of the bracelet, the first one ever won by Aguiar. The two then agreed to a rematch for a later date.

That date is here. Tonight at the Aria poker room in Las Vegas, the two poker pros will fight it out on the felt for $130,000, which was the difference between first and second place prize money in Cannes. Quite a few players and fans are expected to watch the poker game at Aria, as the duo’s heated words over the past few weeks plays into hopes for an interesting match.

WSOP Circuit Final Table Ready

The World Series of Poker Circuit is completing its stop at the River Rock in Canada, and the Main Event reached its final table on Tuesday. At post time, the table was still in action.

Out of a total of 1,032 entries, there were only eight remaining for the final table. The tournament garnered a prize pool of $1,548,000 from the $1,675 buy-ins, and a first prize of $286,382 awaits the winner. Some of the players who made it into the money included Daniel Idema, Scott Clements, and Isaac Baron. But on Day 3, the final table was led by Sonny Sekhon, and others in contention included Ryan Biermann and Calvin Anderson.
