The Asia Pacific Poker Tour is started its action on March 14 with the first stop on Season 7. The APPT took its tournament to Seoul, South Korea, and the Walker Paradise Casino. The tournament required a buy-in of KRW3,000,000 for the NLHE Main Event.

The first of two starting days attracted 122 players, including names like JJ Liu, Joseph Cheong, Casey Kastle, and Xuan Liu. That day ended with only about 50 players bagging their chips, and Benjamin Richardson held the lead with 111,600 of them.

LAPT Chile Makes History

The sixth season of the Latin American Poker Tour was in full swing when it headed down to Vina del Mar in Valparaiso, Chile, for the LAPT Chile National Poker Championship. The preliminary tournaments were in motion at the Enjoy Casino & Resort, and the $1,100 buy-in reentry NLHE Main Event started on March 13.

Day 1A brought in 377 players, though only 86 survived the night with chips. From a list of players including Angel Guillen, Andre Akkari, and Leo Fernandez, it was Rodrigo Quezada who overtook them all and took the chip lead with 226,500.

Day 1B added another 629 players, which boosted the entry total to 1,006, the largest in LAPT history. The field included players like Jose Barbero and Humberto Brenes, but it was Norson Saho with the chip lead at the end of the night with 211,200. A total of 162 players finished the day.

Terrence Chan Joins Ultimate Poker

The announcement came from the personal blog of Terrence Chan. After hinting at a job possibility for some time, he revealed that he joined Ultimate Poker, owned by Fertitta Interactive and one of the first companies to receive an online poker license in Nevada. It took a year of talks, but he decided to relocate to Las Vegas and take the job in the office of Ultimate Poker.

Chan noted that the fit is a good one, as Fertitta Interactive not only owns Station Casinos in Nevada but the UFC. He will be able to represent Ultimate Poker as a professional poker player and still have enough time to train for his MMA fights.
