Beckstead Wins CPPT, WSOP Begins

Thomas Beckstead Wins CPPT Bicycle

When the Card Player Poker Tour Main Event got underway at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, there were 369 players in action. That created a prize pool of $357,930 to allow the top 37 players to make the money. The money bubble burst on Day 2, which started with 91 but worked its way down to the final table. At that point, Nichoel Jurgens was the far-and-away chip leader with 3.54 million, followed by Thomas Beckstead with 1.73 million.

Day 3 played out the final table, which resulted in Beckstead in the winner’s circle and Jurgens in second place. The results were as follows:

1st place: Thomas Beckstead ($102,010)

2nd place: Nichoel Jurgens ($52,110)

3rd place: Rubin Chappell ($34,900)

4th place: Ho Shin Lee ($24,340)

5th place: Alan Myerson ($14,460)

6th place: Pogos Simityan ($12,525)

7th place: William M ($10,735)

8th place: Zaher Samaan ($9,050)

9th place: Stan Hackett ($7,600)
