Canada Trails US in WSOP Earnings through 64 Events

It happens each year. The World Series of Poker is held in the United States, and the vast majority of players travel within the country to Las Vegas to compete. Thus, it is no surprise that US players win the most money and bracelets each year at the WSOP.

This year, Canada was the closest behind the US, though still quite a distance away. Germany came close to Canada, due in part to the German Team PokerStars Pro George Danzer, who captured two bracelets in $10K buy-in tournaments.

By earnings, these are the top 10 countries at this year’s WSOP, not including the Main Event:

1. United States – $117,028,409

2. Canada – $13,054,564

3. Germany – $10,316,785

4. United Kingdom – $6,084,596

5. France – $3,232,135

7. Italy – $1,298,570

8. Belgium – $1,168,699

9. Israel – $989,593

10. Ukraine – $696,473

As far as ranking countries by the number of cashes in the 64 tournaments prior to the Main Event, these were at the top:
