DeepStacks to Europe, Coimbra Challenges

DSPT Goes to Barcelona

DeepStacks Poker Tour announced an expansion into Europe. To celebrate a second season of tournaments, DSPT plans to head to Casino Barcelona in September 2013. Players like Michael Mizrachi, Mike Matusow, and Tristan Wade have committed to play.

There will be seven events scheduled from September 22 to September 29, and the Main Event will offer a $1,500 buy-in NLHE tournament to compliment the lower buy-in events. The exact schedule, which will include satellites, will be released in early 2013 for the Barcelona Challenge.

Coimbra Commits to 2013 Challenge

Team PokerStars Online player Andre Coimbra is no stranger to challenges. In 2012, he committed to playing all MicroMillions II tournaments, and he completed that task despite a tremendous lack of sleep.

His 2013 challenge to himself is to turn $100 into $100,000 online. At the end, he will donate the entire amount to charity. Meanwhile, he asked PokerStars to reduce his status from Supernova Elite to Bronze so he can start at the very beginning like most players do.

Coimbra will be documenting his progress throughout the year. More about the player and his challenge can be found here.
