Dorrance Wins WSOPC, ACOP Sets Field, Louviere Wins HPT

James Dorrance Wins WSOPC Hammond

The World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event at the Horseshoe in Hammond, Indiana, was the largest in the Circuit’s history. With 1,717 players and a $2,575,500 prize pool, the tournament moved forward with over $400K set aside for the winner.

Day 3 started with 15 players, set the final table with James Dorrance in the lead, and he 27-year-old took down the title and gold ring. The final table results were:

1st place: James Dorrance ($418,526)

2nd place: David Cossio ($260,100)

3rd place: Diane Dines ($193,832)

4th place: Steven Maniaci ($146,855)

5th place: Scott Anderson ($112,498)

6th place: Kevin Eyster ($87,103)

7th place: Steven Hensley ($68,173)

8th place: Millard Hale ($53,905)

9th place: Michael Oshana ($43,088)

ACOP Sets Field

The Asia Championship of Poker series culminated in the HK $100,000 buy-in Main Event at the PokerStars LIVE Macau poker room.

The first of two starting days brought in 93 players, though only 77 survived. Keith Ferrera was the Day 1A chip leader with 117,825. The second starting day brought in another 110 players, and Satrya Teja led that day’s action with 83,300 chips.

The total field was set at 203 players and prize pool at HK $19,800,000, which beat last year’s total by 19 players. The top 25 players from this year’s tournament will be paid at least HK $198,000, and the winner will receive HK $4,752,000.

Chris Louviere Wins HPT Iowa

The Prairie Meadows Racetrack Casino Hotel in Altoona, Iowa, was the home of the most recent stop of the Heartland Poker Tour. With a prize pool of $180,750 on the line, the top 13 players cashed but the first-ever Most Valuable Player title was on the line to go with the win.

Ultimately, it was Chris Louviere who survived the table after coming in seventh on the leaderboard. But he played well and turned his $360 satellite win into a HPT victory and the title of Heartland MVP. The final table results were:

1st place: Chris Louviere ($54,225)

2nd place: Rick Goulden ($32,535)

3rd place: Terry Ring ($21,690)

4th place: Andy Van Blair ($15,886)

5th place: Dashiell Saenz ($12,020)

6th place: Ron Shultz ($9,941)

7th place: Nicolas Marsh ($8,134)

8th place: Eddie Engel ($6,326)

9th place: Matt Hennig ($4,917)
