Tom Dwan Leaves Full Tilt Poker

The player best known as “durrrr” – Tom Dwan – has parted ways with Full Tilt Poker. The online poker site confirmed to PokerListings that Dwan’s contract expired, and the two parties agreed to part ways without renewing it.

PokerListings noted that Dwan has been playing more live cash games in Macau, which resulted in less play on Full Tilt, as well as his omission from several recent promotions and the recent live Galway events.

WPT Korea Nears Money Bubble

The World Poker Tour was in South Korea for its first foray there, hosting the WPT Club Phoenix at the Ramada Plaza Jeju. The $3,000 NLHE Main Event offered the opportunity for reentry and commenced on December 15.

The first day attracted 50 players, and another 87 entries were added on the second starting day. The field was complete with 137 entries and a $358,803 prize pool. The final 21 players were to be paid with $100K set aside for the winner.

Day 2 saw 75 remaining players return for play, but that number was reduced as players like Zhang Jiang and Lacey Jones didn’t make it through. Only 23 players survived, with Jae Kyung Sim as the chip leader with 475K and Chane Kampanatsanyakorn in second with 433K chips.
