EPT Super High Roller Latest & Full Tilt Back UKIPT Galway

EPT Finishing on a High

This season’s EPT will come to a close tomorrow in style as a glittering selection of pros are currently battling for a place in the €100,000 Super High Roller finale.

After the Main Event antics over the weekend and Steven Silverman’s victory in the €25,000 High Roller, there’s now just one more chance for the game’s elite to lift an EPT trophy.

Over the course of Day 1 a number of notable pros exercised their option to re-enter the Super High Roller after running into a patch of negative variance.

Indeed, both Justin Bonomo and Phil Ivey were forced to rebuy twice and help push the prizepool towards the €5,000,000 mark.

While some players were reaching deep into their pockets, Jason Mercier was doing what he does best on the way to scooping the chip lead at the close of play.

A profitable session for Jason gifted him 1,183,000 chips at the end of Day 1 and that haul was enough to put him ahead of Sorel Mizzi(885,000), Fabian Quoss (797,000) and Scott Seiver (759,000).

Today’s session kicked off earlier and when the books had finally been balanced a total of 50 entrance fees had been collected.

Currently making another run at the title is Phil Ivey who, at the time of writing, has managed to pull himself up to second in chips.

With just 17 players remaining the field will play until a final table is reached before a winner is crowned tomorrow evening.

 €1 Million UKIPT Injection

This season’s UKIPT Galway will feature a new sponsor in the form of Full Tilt Poker. Taking over from their parent company, PokerStars, Full Tilt’s branding will now adorn the tables of the popular Irish event.

The new partnership means that not only will players be able to qualify for the €1,100 event online via PokerStars and Full Tilt, but the prizepool will be a given a €500,000 boost.

Added to the exiting guarantee of €500,000, this means that when the cards are in the air the prizepool will be at least €1,000,000.

In a bid to start their UKIPT association off on the right foot, Full Tilt will be constructing a purpose built Poker Village to house the 55 events that are scheduled to take place between July 29 and August 12.

In addition to the Main Event, the festival will also contain a number of side events, including the Irish Poker Championship and Bridge Masters, as well as cash games running around the clock.
