GPI100 Ladies | Top 10

Another deep run last week at the WPT Borgata Poker Open will certainly allow Vanessa Selbst to pull further away from the pack on top of the GPI100 Ladies Leaderboard once the latest GPI rankings are released on Thursday.

With Selbst’s impressive run in Atlantic City, we take a look at the GPI100 Ladies Top 10:
Xuan Liu GPI

#10 | Xuan Liu

2013 hasn’t been too kind for the former member of the GPI300 … that said, Liu did collect four cashes at the WSOP and does have three Top 10 finishes on the live tournament circuit this year. Perhaps a deep run at WPT Montreal is in the works for the young Canadian pro?

GPI#472, Highest #258

#9 | Allyn Jaffrey Shulman

The 2012 WSOP bracelet winner capped off her summer in Vegas this year with a Main Event victory in the Card Player Poker Tour’s Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza III, collecting just under 300K USD for the big win.

GPI#435, Highest #219
Amanda Musumeci GPI

#8 | Amanda Musumeci

Seven cashes and over 30K in winnings helped Musumeci enjoy a good summer at the WSOP, even though she probably would have preferred to run deeper than she did in some of those events. Most recently, Amanda cashes in a prelim event at the Borgata Poker Open.

GPI#431, Highest #243
Liv Boeree GPI

#7 | Liv Boeree

The former EPT Sanremo Champion has had a rough go of it in 2013. Boeree is primed for a bounce back as the EPT London Festival is just around the corner. If things don’t go her way in London, though, she does run the risk of dropping out of the GPI300 for the first time in a very, very long time.

GPI#286, Highest #126

Melanie Weisner GPI#6 | Melanie Weisner

Many have been waiting for that big breakout victory from Weisner … for now, we’ll have to settle for a series of solid results for the American pro … although 2013 risks being her worst season since she entered the live tournament circuit back in 2010.

GPI#217, Highest #54

#5 | Samantha Cohen

2013 has been oh-so-kind to Cohen, who has already eclipsed her 2012 performances. Her season was highlighted by an eighth place finish at the Aussie Millions back in January.

GPI#193, Highest #177

Maria Ho GPI#4 | Maria Ho

It’s scary to think that Maria Ho’s first score on the live tournament circuit came back in 2005! Since then, Ho has maintained her status as a solid professional on the circuit. Amazingly, despite years of success, she would have to wait until last month to pickup her first win ever on tour. Ho would defeat over 50 opponents to win the 5K NLH event at the River Poker Series in Oklahoma.

GPI#183, Highest #117

#3 | Hui “Kitty” Chen-Kuo

Kitty has earned over 175K USD in winnings through 12 cashes so far in 2013. Kuo’s 2013 started with three cashes at the Aussie Millions, including a 17th place finish in the Main Event. Most recently, she cashed twice at EPT Barcelona, including a 115th place finish in the Main Event. Kitty also leads the 2013 Ladies Player of the Year race (see below for full list).

GPI#87, Highest #85

Ana Marquez GPI#2 | Ana Marquez

Marquez’ victory at the Hollywood Poker Open steps away from the Rio and the WSOP this summer came a little under the radar, despite so many poker pros entering the 5K buy-in event … but Marquez won it and with it captured the #1 spot on the GPI National Spain Leaderboard – which she still holds today.

GPI#78, Highest #58

Vanessa Selbst GPI#1 | Vanessa Selbst

What else can be said about our #1 player? Selbst seems to run deep in almost every tournament she enters … she was so close to grabbing 2/3’s of Poker’s Triple Crown on Friday that nothing short of a victory at EPT London – coming up next on the poker calendar – will numb the pain … oh, and don’t be surprised to see Selbst contending in the High Roller and SHR events as well … no doubt that she is one of the best in the world!

GPI#52, Highest #3
