Gutierrez Wins LAPT Colombia, WSOP Day 13 Update
Weider Gutierrez Wins LAPT Colombia
The sixth season of the Latin American Poker Tour was well underway with an early June stop in Colombia. Casino Allegre in Medellin hosted the festivities, which culminated in a June 5-9 Main Event that required a COP2,000,000 buy-in. There were a total of 629 entries over the course of two starting days, though only 143 of them survived to make Day 2.
The field greatly diminished on Day 2, bursting through the money bubble and ending with only 24 players. Day 3 eliminated all but eight of them, and the final table was set with Miguel Velasco in the chip lead and Team PokerStars Pro Cristian “El Grillo” de Leon still in contention.
Ultimately, the final table played out with a three-way deal and Weider Gutierrez as the champion. The results were as follows:
1st place: Weider Gutierrez (COP165,244,000)
2nd place: Miguel Moscoso (COP155,243,000)
3rd place: Miguel Velasco (COP145,243,000)
4th place: Cristian de Leon (COP74,460,000)
