Hachem Wins ANZPT, WSOP Day 6

Anthony Hachem Wins ANZPT Repechage

The Australia New Zealand Poker Tour was amidst Season 5 at Melbourne’s Crown Casino on May 30 for the ANZPT Repechage Main Event. The AUD$1,100 tournament with reentries gathered 843 entries in total for a prize pool of AUD$844K. After the top 63 players were in the money, the final table was on tap on June 3 to play for the title.

Anthony Hachem, Joe Hachem’s son, was one of the shorter stacks when play began, but he overcame that deficit and soared to victory. All of the final table results are here:

Event 6: $1,500 Millionaire Maker NLHE (Day 3 of 4)

Players: 6,343

Prize pool: $8,563,050

Players paid: 648

Day 3 started with 133 players but aimed to set the final table. By the dinner break, there were 27 players still in action, including players like Bart Hanson, Dan Kelly, and Chris Hunichen, but Ed Robertson was the chip leader.

Event 7: $1,000 NLHE (Day 2 of 3)

Players: 1,837

Prize pool: $1,653,300

Players paid: 198

Day 2 started with 148 players after having burst through the money bubble late on Day 1. Eric Baldwin started the day as the chip leader with 121K, and he remained near the top, coming in at third on the leaderboard when the final 34 players went on their dinner break.

Event 8: $2,500 8-Game Mix (Day 2 of 3)

Players: 388

Prize pool: $882,700

Players paid: 40

Day 2 started with less than 200 players and Eric Crain in the chip lead with 69,925. About 45 players remained at the late dinner break, and the money bubble awaited their return.

Event 9: $3,000 NLHE Shootout (Day 1 of 3)

Players: 477

Prize pool: $1,302,210

Players paid: 60

Of the original field, about 10 tables remained after the dinner break, still needing to find a winner for each. Winners advanced to the money and into Round 2 on Day 2.

Event 10: $1,500 LHE (Day 1 of 3)

Players: 455 (UNOFFICIAL)

Event 11: $2,500 NLHE 6-Handed (3-day) beginning at 12:00pm PT

Events 6, 7, and 8 will play to a winner.
