HPT Partners with Stratosphere in Vegas

The Heartland Poker Tour announced a new partnership for their stop in Las Vegas later in 2013. The HPT will host its November 8-17 tournament at the Stratosphere Casino Hotel & Tower at the north end of the Las Vegas strip. The tournament will make over 40 tables available for the three starting days of the Main Event, as well as qualifying events. Past HPT events have been held at the Palms.

Stratosphere and the HPT are also partnering with the Free Poker Network, one of America’s largest organized bar leagues, that will culminate in a year-end championship to run in conjunction with the November tournaments.

APPT Cebu Gets Underway

The PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour started its most recent tournament in Cebu, Philippines, on May 1. The first starting day brought 81 players into action, including Sam Razavi, Bryan Huang, Dan Kelly, and former champion Vivian Im. But only 41 players remained at the end of the day with Ivan Zalac in the lead with 109,100 chips.

The second starting day added another 77 players, making for a total field of 158. Some of the recognizable faces included Celina Lin, Jim Collopy, and Raymond Wu. The night ended with 35 players and Milan Gurung as that day’s top finisher with 99,900 chips.
