Jaffee Wins WPT, Lyndaker Wins HPT, Creel Wins WSOPC

Jared Jaffee Wins WPT Title in Jacksonville

The World Poker Tour‘s latest stop was in Florida for the WPT bestbet Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble. Play began on November 15 for the $3,500 reentry Main Event, and a total of 358 entries made for a prize pool of $1,145,600.

Day 2 brought 123 players back for action, and the money bubble burst later in the day to start paying the top 45 players. Byron Kaverman was the first to cash for $6,329, and others who followed included Jake Schwartz and Micah Raskin.

Day 3 resumed with 26 players, and some who exited as the day progressed included Cong Pham in 21st place, Jacob Bazeley in 18th, Jeff Madsen in 15th, Matthew Glantz in 12th, David Diaz in ninth, and Ryan Eriquezzo in eighth. Matthew Oswalt was the bubble player, leaving in seventh place with $39,557.

The final table began on November 19 with Jared Jaffee holding a solid lead, and he kept up the momentum all the way to heads-up, though he was fairly even in chips with Blake Purvis. But Jaffee soared into the lead and eventually took it down with 4-2 making a flush to crack aces.

Richard Lyndaker Wins HPT in Las Vegas

The latest stop for the Heartland Poker Tour was on the Las Vegas Strip at the Stratosphere, and the Main Event started on November 15 with three starting flights. The field was eventually set with 353 players and a $510,614 prize pool.

Day 2 thinned the field from 130 players down to the final table, and along the way, the money bubble burst so the top 36 could be paid. Among them were Erica Schoenberg, Christina Lindley, Trevor Pope, Allen Kessler, Justin Young, Dennis Phillips, Dan O’Brien, and Wendy Freedman.

The final table was set for November 18 with Richard Lyndaker in the lead, though he was behind in the chip counts going into heads-up play. But a string of double-ups through Steven Patch gave him the lead, and he took that into the winner’s circle.

Thomas Creel Wins WSOPC Bossier City

The World Series of Poker Circuit wrapped up its stop in Bossier City, Louisiana, with its $1,675 Reentry Main Event at the Horseshoe. There were 438 entries for the tournament, creating a prize pool of $657K.

Day 2 started with 81 players and quickly worked toward the money at 45 players. As the field thinned, players like Jason Schwartz, Beverly Lange, and La Sengphet cashed, but the final table was eventually set with Thomas Creel leading the last nine players standing.

The final table played out on November 18 and Creel played aggressively throughout most of the action, only going into heads-up a bit behind Sean Small. But Creel moved into the lead and dominated, finally taking victory and the WSOPC gold ring.
