LAPC Schedule Released, Bain Wins APT Sydney, WSOPC Rincon Begins

Savage Releases LAPC Schedule

Tournament Director Matt Savage released the 2014 L.A. Poker Classic schedule via Twitter. There will be 60 events at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, beginning on January 17 and running through March 6.

The most prominent tournament is the $10K NLHE World Poker Tour Main Event from March 1-6, but there are several other tournaments with big guarantees – two with $500K guarantees and one with $1 million for a $150 buy-in event.

Tristan Bain Wins APT Sydney

The Asian Poker Tour recently stopped in Sydney for a $2K NLHE tournament at The Star Casino in coordination with the National Poker League. There were 648 players, creating a $1,170,000 prize pool.

The three-day tournament culminated with the final table, which started with Jim Collopy as the chip leader and Tristan Bain third in chips. But Bain took charge and took a significant chip lead into heads-up play against Brent Nichols. Bain won the tournament and more than $281K.

WSOPC Rincon Awards First Few Rings

The World Series of Poker Circuit headed to San Diego, California, for its last stop of 2013 at Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort. Action kicked off on December 5 and will finish on December 16.

Event 1 was a $365 NLHE tournament with 221 entrants and a $66,300 prize pool. Andrew Merrick won the top prize of $16,576.

The second tournament was another $365 NLHE, that one with 155 players and a $46,500 prize pool. Mark Alag won $12,555 for taking it down. Jorge Walker won Event 3, a $365 NLHE tournament with reentries, for a ring and $29,302. Joshua Reichard captured Event 4, another $365 NLHE, and the next was the same buy-in but found a winner in Nyle Rock. Event 6 was a $365 NLHE 6-Handed tournament, and Ted Woolridge won it for $12,054 out of the field of 141 players. Event 7 was a $365 PLO event with 74 entrants and Mitch Schock as the champion.

Event 8 was a $365 NLHE with 151 registrants, and Alexandru Masek won the ring and $12,231. He tied the all-time winning record by winning his seventh WSOPC gold ring.
