Nguyen and McEvoy in Hall of Fame, ACOP Begins, HPT Indigo Sky Starts

Poker Hall of Fame Announces 2014 Inductees

The names of the two players to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame this year were announced – Scotty Nguyen and Tom McEvoy.

Both had been nominated last year as well, and they were notified this week of their honors. The induction ceremony will be held at the Rio in Las Vegas on November 3 as part of the World Series of Poker November Nine action. Nguyen and McEvoy plan to be in attendance.

ACOP Begins in Macau

The 2013 Asia Championship of Poker got underway late last week with the first of many events on the schedule. The second annual series took place in PokerStars LIVE Macau.

Event 1 was a $2,500 Rebuy Championship with a $500K guarantee. The 139 players and 208 rebuys pushed the prize pool up to $757,328, and the final 16 players were paid. Ultimately, Ioan Taizs of Romania took the first title and $189,300 in prize money.

HPT Indigo Sky Sets Prize Pool

The current stop on the Heartland Poker Tour schedule is in Oklahoma at the Indigo Sky Casino. Action began with three starting flights, which resulted in a final prize pool of $174,120.

Of the starting field, only 44 remained to begin play on Day 2. Only the top 13 players will be paid.
