PCA 2013 Main Event Chip Count and GPI Ranks before Day2

2013 is starting once again with one of the biggest event of the year, the Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, in the Bahamas.

“La creme de la creme” is joining for the new year and to start a new PoY race, hunting for GPI points. Scott Seiver took a great start, winning the 100k super high roller, but certainly, the 987 players who took part into the main event between day 1a and day 1b, some of them will kick start the season with important points, from an important event.

Will Dan Smith compete for an other title this year, or will Marvin Rettenmaier, the new GPI overall leader, manage to keep his position for longer than Jason Mercier, the all time leader of the GPI with an unbeaten number of weeks atop of the ladder.

The chip leader before day 2 is Ashton Griffin (GPI#629) but the best ranked GPI players are once again some names we are used to see. Dan Smith, Andrew Lichtenberger, Phil Hellmuth, David Sands.

Here is a  chip count and seat draw of all players, including their GPI ranks:
