Pham Wins WSOPC, Ring Wins HPT, WPT LAPC in the Money

Christian Pham Wins WSOPC Caesars

The World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Caesars Palace started with 697 players in Las Vegas and a $1,045,500 prize pool. Day 2 thinned the field from 129 to 14 players.

Day 3 started with a few eliminations and Joseph Elia busting to set the official final table. Jonathan Gaviao had the chip lead.

The final table action consisted of numerous double-ups and the last woman in the tournament – Nancy Birnbaum – out in sixth place. Eventually, Gaviao made it to heads-up play against Christian Pham, but the latter had the lead. And it only took a few hands for Pham to claim victory.

Terry Ring Wins HPT River City

The most recent stop for the Heartland Poker Tour was at the River City Casino in St. Louis, Missouri. The $1,650 NLHE Main Event brought 324 players to the tables, which made for a prize pool of $466,560.

Ultimately, Terry Ring captured the title and nearly $112K.

WPT LA Poker Classic Down to Few Tables

The WPT L.A. Poker Classic was in Los Angeles for the latest World Poker Tour stop and a $10K buy-in Main Event. The tournament attracted 534 players to create a $5,126,400 prize pool.

Day 2 reduced the field to 172 players, and Day 3 headed toward the money bubble. It burst on the last hand of the night when Oliver Price and his pocket aces eliminated Gordon Vayo with pocket queens. Play stopped with 63 players, all of whom were guaranteed $18,970.

Day 4 sent quite a few players to the cashier cage, including Jonathan Duhamel, Andy Frankenberger, Ali Eslami, Mike Sexton, Bryn Kenney, Jason Mercier, Eugene Katchalov, Dan Heimiller, and Matthew Waxman. Jennifer Tilly exited in 22nd place and Eric Buchman in 20th. With 19 players left and the night scheduled to end after one more elimination, Josh Neufeld was the chip leader with 2.24 million chips.
