Sky Poker UK Championships Opening Episode, Matusow’s Life to become a Movie

Get Ready for Sky Poker’s Next Live Event

The inaugural Sky Poker UK Championships inside Nottingham’s Dusk Till Dawn was a huge success and with the next event already on the horizon the organisers have released the first episode of the tournament.

Uploaded to YouTube on Sunday and featuring some of the UK’s top talent, including, Barny Boatman, Simon Deadman and Toby Lewis the opening instalment certainly captures the calibre of the Main Event.

Overseeing the action and commentating over the top of the first episode is UK grinder Sam Grafton and Sky Poker presenter Richard Orford and within the first few minutes of the show we get to see Mr. Boatman run a bluff for the cameras.

While the forthcoming episodes will document Alex Spencer’s win, qualification for the next Sky Poker 6-Max UK Championships is already underway.

The festival as a whole will carry a £1 million prizepool and on top of offering a 6-max format, the £1,000 Main Event will give players a chance to bank a slice of £500,000.

Matusow’s Life to be Turned into a Movie

We all know that Mike Matusow has lived an interesting life both on and off the felt and much of it was documented in his 2012 autobiography: Check-Raising the Devil.

After dealing with drug addiction, depression as well as great success thanks to multiple WSOP bracelet wins, Mike’s books received a lot of praise from the poker community and thanks to Adi Shankar those stories will now make it onto the big screen.

The producer of various films, such as Dredd and The Grey, has acquired the rights to turn Mike’s autobiography into a movie.

Set to document the highs and lows of poker’s most entertaining characters, the film will certainly be a hit with those who’ve seen Mike’s antics at the poker table over the years.
