UKIPT’s Exciting Fourth Season
PokerStars‘ UKIPT will be packing its bags and heading for sunny climes in June thanks to a partnership with the Estrellas Poker Tour.
Although based in the UK, the tour will be hosting a one-off special in Marbella, Spain, to mark the start of their fourth season.
Taking place between June 13th and 17th, the festival will encompass a range of events, including a £500,000 guaranteed Main Event.
Indeed, on top of their new Spanish stop, PokerStars are putting up £500,000 for every stop during UKIPT’s new season which means every winner will take home at least £100,000.
It’s also been announced that a two week UKIPT festival will take place in Galway, Ireland.
Encompassing a range of tournaments – including a Heads-Up Championship between the UK and Ireland – the event will take place in a specially constructed poker village.
Trickett Bags Another High Roller
Sam Trickett has confirmed his status as one of the poker world’s sickest players with another Super High Roller win.
Despite starting today’s $250,000 Aussie Millions Challenge finale as one of the short stacks, the British player managed to ride his luck and win the $2 million first place prize.
Having outlasted some of the world’s best players, including Igor Kurganov and Fabian Quoss, Trickett eventually beat Tobias Reinkemeier for the title.
In the final throws of the tournament it was Trickett who took charge. Indeed, after eliminating Fabian Quoss, he wore down Reinkemeier before forcing his opponent into a desperate shove with [Kh] [2c].
Trickett was able to make the academic call with [As] [5h] and, after the board did little to change Reinkemeier’s fortunes, it was yet another title for the Brit.
Place | Name | Prize (AU$) |
1st | Sam Trickett | $2,000,000 |
2nd | Tobias Reinkemeier | $1,250,000 |
3rd | Fabian Quoss | $750,000 |
4th | Igor Kurganov | $500,000 |
Tabatabai Wins Betfair LIVE!
John Tabatabai has made a return to winning ways after winning the London leg of the Betfair LIVE! series.
The Welshman, who finished second in the WSOPE back in 2007, overcame a 368 runner field to take home £24,209.
Hosted by Aspers Casino, the event exceeded all expectations and easily broke the $100,000 guaranteed prizepool.
