WPT Baden: Keep an Eye on Alban Juen

FPM logoNOTE: This article has been released prior to the end of Day 1 play at WPT Baden.  UPDATE: Juen finished Day 1A with a 103K stack, one of the top stacks of the day.

Although he may not be a household name around the world, here is my thought process behind taking a good long look at Alban Juen (GPI: 1877) when I’m putting my team together for WPT Baden as the Thursday deadline approaches.

Juen first caught my attention when he was running deep, very deep at the WSOP Main Event this past summer.  At the end Day 5 play at the WSOP, Juen held over one million poker chips after a wild day.  He would end up running out of steam on Day 6 earning over 128K USD for his 59th place finish.  Having turned 21 in 2012, this was his first appearance at the WSOP in Las Vegas, not a bad showing for his first time!

Playing as “HWolowitz” online, he’s had several big scores on the virtual felt, including a Main Event win on Winamax late in 2012.  Juen has also earned several other cashes on other French sites.

About an hour ago, Juen six-bet bluffed former GPI #1 ranked player Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI: 2) in order to win the pot – it sure looks as if Juen is here to play – keep an eye on the rising star.

The young Frenchman is known for being very social and is to be commended for his charity initiatives.

Alban Juen (FRA) | GPI #1877 | FPM 10,000
Best WPT Baden Result: First-time event
Career WSOP, WPT, EPT: 0 wins, 2 cashes,  $130,529

Biggest Live Tournament Score: $128,384 (59th – WSOP Main Event, 2012)
Most Recent Score: € 6,755 (9th – Paris ACF Hold’em Series, Nov. 2012)

Why should I add Juen to my team?
> Playing fearless poker in Baden
> Great spirit, attitude
> No pressure on him
> Market price still at 10,000

Want to take a chance on Juen?  Head on over to Facebook and signup to play the GPI Fantasy Poker Manager – the Official Fantasy Poker game of the World Poker Tour … lineups for WPT Baden lock on Thursday.
