WPT Barcelona: Draft Kevin MacPhee

FPM logoNOTE: This player has made it to Day 2 play with a top 10 stack – just under 100K – thus, he will indeed play on Day 2 Sunday.

American poker pro Kevin MacPhee (GPI#39) is a devoted GPI Fantasy Poker Manager player – he even took his laptop straight to the poker table in order to make the best selections possible for the High Roller event back at EPT London.

MacPhee enjoyed a fine Day 1A earlier today at WPT Barcelona, ending the day with a top 10 chip stack and positioning himself very well heading into Day 2 play.  The 2010 EPT Berlin Champion already has three scores in 2013 to his credit, including a 9th place finish in the 10K High Roller event at EPT Deauville.

So what does a FPM manager do when he himself is one of the top players available to draft following an excellent Day 1A?

Easy.  You draft yourself!  And that’s exactly what MacPhee did a little while after posting his tweet contemplating his own selection.

This is obviously one of the most unique nuances to Fantasy Poker Manager.  Players working hard to survive Day 1 on the felt and then having the ability to draft themselves with the goal to win both the tournament and Fantasy bragging rights as well.

Last week, Kara Scott attempted this exact same feat.  Kara earned a Top 20 finish both at the WPT Venice Grand Prix and with her Venice FPM team.  Like MacPhee, Scott had drafted herself for her FPM team.

MacPhee is certainly hoping to become the first person to win both a major tournament and finish the tournament with the best FPM team as well – wouldn’t that be something – bragging rights forever!

Now making room on your squad for MacPhee may require you to be creative given his +330K current Market Price on the FPM – but, this tournament should yield a few great 10-15K bargains so you should be able to get it done!

Why should I add MacPhee to my team?
> One of the top players on the tournament circuit for the past few years
> DUDE PICKED HIMSELF, he has to make it happen, right?
