WPT Barcelona Preview
Just a few days after Rocco Palumbo was crowned Champion of the Gioco Digitale WPT Venice Grand Prix, the World Poker Tour now sets up shop in beautiful Barcelona for the bwin WPT Barcelona.
Defending Champion Lukas Berglund (GPI#4445) is amongst the almost 100 runners who are currently registered as Day 1A play is currently underway in Barcelona.
Berglund outlasted 215 other players during last season’s event to win over € 230,000 and earn his place in the WPT Champions Club. He will be joined by other WPT Champions Club members including Guillaume Darcourt, Giacomo Fundaro, Marcin Wydrowski, Vladimir Bozinovic, Davidi Kitai and Matt Salsberg (pictured). Salsberg will attempt to takeover the lead in the Season XI WPT Player of the Year race. Salsberg and Paul Volpe currently shared the #1 rank.
The five-day € 3,200 + € 300 Main Event concludes with the WPT Final Table on Wednesday, April 10 at 2pm CET (8am ET) – the Main Event is a single re-entry event. The WPT Final Table will be available on live stream (on a 30-minute delay) over at WPT.com.
Barcelona will also offer a € 9,750 + € 250 High Roller Reload event that will run on Tuesday, April 9th and Wednesday, April 10th.
