WPT Fallsview Moves Through Day 2

The World Poker Tour was hosting its Fallsview Poker Classic in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Play got underway over the weekend for the CAD $5K buy-in NLHE Main Event, which was scheduled to run for three days.

Day 1 was the only registration day, and there were 13 levels on tap. Players gathered throughout the first nine levels, and registration closed with 383 players and a CAD $1,729,510 prize pool. The top 45 finishers would make the money and $363,197 reserved for the winner.

That night ended with 114 players still in action and Matthew Lapossie atop the leaderboard with 417,400 chips. Sylvain Siebert was in second with 264,800, followed by Elliot Smith with 235,400 chips.

Day 2 moved toward the money into the evening hours, and quite a few players doubled during hand-for-hand play. Ultimately, Jan Vanderzwaag pushed with A-5 against the K-Q of Danny Freitas, but two queens came to eliminate Vanderzwaag in 46th place.
Players were then guaranteed at least $8,716, and some who cashed included Anh Van Nguyen, Mike Linster, Mike Leah, and Peter Jetten. With 15 players left and play continuing, Jason James was the chip leader with more than two million chips.

WSOP Circuit Continues at Caesars

The World Series of Poker Circuit was in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace for its current stop that began on February 20. It will culminate in the $1,675 NLHE Main Event.

Event 1 was a $365 NLHE tournament that drew 432 players for a prize pool of $129,600. Salvatore Musto was the winner for more than $28K.

Event 2 was a $365 NLHE but with two starting days and reentries allowed. There were a total of 890 entries and prize pool of $267K, and Day 2 took the players into the money.

MSPT Belle of Baton Rouge Underway

The Mid-States Poker Tour just wrapped in Minnesota before heading down to Louisiana for the $1,110 NLHE Main Event. The tournament allowed reentries and add-ons.

Day 1A brought in 55 entries, though only 18 of them survived the night. Austin Bursavich was the chip leader with 187,300, followed by Will Souther with 132K chips.

Day 1B added another set of entries with only 18 players making it through the day. Erica Sumner was the overall chip leader when it all ended and the first woman in MSPT history to hold the lead going into the final day of play. She had 232,600 chips, and Michael Benton was in second with 145,300 chips.

Day 2 started with 36 players. The total for the tournament showed 118 entries and a $100K prize pool, out of which the top 12 players would be paid.
