WPT Legends Heats Up, CPPT Season 2 Begins

WPT Legends of Poker Sets Field

The World Poker Tour is set up at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles for the Legends of Poker, a $3,700 reentry Main Event. It began on August 29 with 142 players and 56 remaining at the end of the night. Barry Hutter was the chip leader with 212,400.

The second starting day added another 199 entries, but only 84 players were seated to bag chips when play stopped. The chip leader was Christopher Richter with 176,500 chips.

The third flight brought in 328 entries with only 124 remaining at the end of the day. The man atop the leaderboard was Fabrice Touil with 272,400 chips; he was the overall chip leader going into Day 2.

Reentries were still going before the start of Day 2, and there were 47 of them. When the final numbers were in, it showed 716 entries for the tournament and a $2.43 million prize pool. The top 72 players will be paid, and the winner is looking at a payday of $613,555.

CPPT Begins Season 2 in Jacksonville

The Card Player Poker Tour kicked off its second season of tournaments at bestbet Jacksonville in Florida, and the first event was a $350 NLHE with a $100K guarantee on August 29. There will be a total of 14 tournaments, culminating in the $1,500 NLHE Main Event that begins on September 6 with two starting days and a $300K guarantee.

The tour will continue on to Palm Beach Kennel Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, in December. The next stop will be at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, in February, followed by the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada, in March.
