WPT Lucky Hearts: My Official Team

FPM logoIt was a travel day for me yesterday so I was unable to let you in on my official team for WPT Lucky Hearts in Florida until today.  And let me tell you, it’s not pretty!

Let’s first take a look at the two players I had featured heading into Day 2 play at the Seminole Hard Rock:

Matt Giannetti 496,500 chips

Jonathan Roy Eliminated on Day 2

And now a look at my own official team for WPT Lucky Hearts, which includes both Giannaetti and Roy::

TEAM DANIS (Player, Day 3 chip count)

Raj Vohra Eliminated on Day 2

I chose to go light and only make five selections for WPT Lucky Hearts.  I didn’t want to touch the six players I kept on my roster (ElkY, Boucher, Rousso, Tedeschi, Cody and Bojang).  I wanted to keep ElkY especially given the fact that I’m confident he will play in the next three big events (LAPC, Bay 101, EPT London) and didn’t want to pay the 5% fee on having to lose him.

I’m actually not that upset with this move, although I could have dropped ElkY and picked up Joe Serock instead … it’s around this time last year that Serock started to heat up.

Bojang was a real mistake.  I could have added a lot of value with the removal of Bojang.  I enjoyed the fact that his market value had gone up since my selecting him, so I didn’t want to mess with that.  This was a mistake.  At some point, you have to make moves, even if it costs you money.  You have a 1M cap, you should be able to figure things out even when you have to drop some players.

As for my actual five selections, I’m very disappointed.  I really had high hopes for Roy.  He is such a quality player and will find his way on my team quite frequently this season, that I am sure of.  He had such a great end to Day 1A, I thought he would carry that momentum onto Day 2.

I also thought that Qartomy was a steal.  Although I wasn’t expecting him to run away with the title, I did think he was the type of player that could very well run a heater to a Top 20 finish scoring some much needed points for my club.

Live and learn friends, live and learn 😉
