WPT Venice: Draft Marvin Rettenmaier
NOTE: This article has been released prior to the end of Day 1 play at the WPT Venice Grand Prix. This player is currently still in contention (as of press time) but be sure to verify the end of Day 1 chip counts to confirm the player has made it to Day 2 play.
Stop whatever you’re doing, go to your Fantasy Poker Manager team and do it, add Mad Marvin Rettenmaier, the #1 ranked player on the GPI, to your Fantasy lineup for the WPT Venice Grand Prix – do it now!
In previous FPM-eligible, I’ve chosen to go against Rettenmaier in favour of other big-name pros (ElkY in Deauville, O’Dwyer in Baden, for example) and it’s backfired. At WPT Baden, Mad Marvin even made the final table, picking up a ton of valuable FPM points for those who had him on their teams.
The simple fact of the matter is, Rettenmaier seems to shine in tournaments of this size (WPT Cyprus, WPT Baden come to mind) and for those of you who think the German was on a career heater and that he would eventually slow down, well, think again … as long as Rettenmaier is willing to travel the world to play on the live tournament circuit, there is no reason to believe that his results are about to take a tumble.
At the time that this article is published, Mad Marvin has the chip lead late into Day 1A play at the WPT Venice Grand Prix. He is one of two players with stacks over 100K.
Having Rettenmaier on your FPM team means you’re making a huge investment. At a current FPM Market Price of 500,000, he is the second most expensive player in Fantasy. That having been said, there is a reason for that. He is the #1 ranked player in the world and he continues to collect cashes all over. Oh, did I mention that Rettenmaier finished eighth at WPT Venice in 2011?

> Running hot (as of press time) in the tournament
> Can you really go wrong adding the #1 player in the world?
