WSOP Main Event: Keep An Eye On Bardah

If the World Series of Poker Main Event was a Limit Hold’em tournament, Ronnie Bardah (GPI#350) would be a very hard man to beat. Bardah, who won his first WSOP bracelet last season in the 2,500 Limit Hold’em Six Handed event in 2012, ran deep yet again in a limit event earlier this summer at the WSOP – earning a third place finish in the 5K event.

Ronnie Bardah FPMThe Massachusetts man isn’t a one-trick pony, however. He has collected several important cashes in no-limit hold’em event as well and has proven himself to be a very serious competitor on the live tournament circuit.

In the past 12 months, the Ivey Poker pro has a total of eight Top 25 scores on the live circuit including a deep run at the PartyPoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship near Montreal where he finished in 16th position out of a 735-player field … not bad for a limit guru, no?

Back in 2010, Bardah also enjoyed plenty of success right here at the WSOP Main Event. In a year where Jonathan Duhamel became the first Canadian ever to win the Main, Bardah was a contender late, very late in the tournament. Bardah fought hard throughout and collected a 24th place finish in the event earning the first of back-to-back-to-back cashes in the Main Event – that streak of three straight Main Event cashes ended last year – Bardah will certainly be looking at starting a new streak in 2013.

Bardah ended Day 1A play with a 75,675 chip stack. That’s plenty of chips for a player with his experience, look for him to ride that stack into Day 2A in the hopes of starting Day 3 with heaps on chips, putting those who drafted him onto their FPM teams for the Main Event in a great place.

At a current FPM Market Price of a little over 16,000, adding Bardah to your FPM team could very well be a no brainer if he qualifies for Day 3 play.
