WSOP Schedule Released, Nguyen Wins HPT Club One

WSOP Releases 2014 Summer Schedule

Caesars Entertainment released the 2014 World Series of Poker summer schedule today. The series will begin on May 27 and run through July 14. Action will be held at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino for the tenth year in a row.

The highlight of the series will be the $10K NLHE Main Event, which will feature a $10 million first-place prize guarantee for the first time. The winner will officially be guaranteed the second largest Main Event award in the history of the WSOP.

All in all, there will be 65 bracelet events. The first is the $500 Casino Employees NLHE event, and the second is the $25K NLHE Mixed Max three-day tournament.

The larger buy-ins featured throughout the series include:

Event 5: $10K Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball

Event 10: $10K Limit Omaha Hi-Low Split-8-or-Better

Event 13: $10K NL 2-7 Draw Lowball

Event 18: $10K Seven Card Razz

Event 22: $10K HORSE

Event 28: $10K PLHE

Event 32: $10K NLHE Six-Handed

Event 38: $10K Seven Card Stud Hi-Low Split-8-or-Better

Event 40: $10K NLHE Heads-Up

Event 46: $50K Poker Players Championship

Event 52: $10K LHE

Event 53: $10K Ladies NLHE Championship (Women eligible for 90% discount)

Event 57: $1M The Big One for One Drop

Event 61: $10K Seven Card Stud

Event 64: $10K PLO

Nguyen Wins HPT Club One

The most recent stop for the Heartland Poker Tour was the Club One Casino in Fresno, California. The action culminated in the Main Event, which finished up late into the night of February 9-10.

The top 27 players were paid out of the $315,645 total prize pool.

The final table moved forward late into the night, as one of the two women exited in eighth place and the other went on to heads-up play. Su Kim is the Director of Business Development at Club One casino, and she faced Joe Nguyen, a telephone repairman. But Nguyen had a dominating lead going into heads-up play and finished the tournament in just two hands to become the latest HPT champion.
