WSOP Structures Released

The World Series of Poker has started releasing the schedules for this year’s summer festival.

In a bid to give prospective players as much chance to prepare as possible, the WSOP has outlined the structure for 29 of their 62 tournaments.

While the Main Event structure has yet to be released, high rollers can still get an insight into the dynamics of such $10,000 events as the 2-7 Draw Lowball and the Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em.

This year’s WSOP will take place inside the Rio Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, from May 29 to July 15.

GUKPT Sponsor Student Championships

In the coming weeks, students across the UK will be scraping together their loans to take part in the annual UK Student Poker Championships following a recent announcement.

Born nine years ago out of an idea by St. Andrews University’s poker society, the festival has now become a national event that attracts players from all over the country.

Last year a total of 300 runners anted up a modest £30+£5 to take part in the Main Event and this year that figure will likely be broken thanks to the addition of a new sponsor.

As a testament to the tournament’s success, the GUKPT has decided to put both their branding and financial might behind the festival.

Indeed, this year there will be the added incentive of a £2,000 seat to the GUKPT’s Grand Final for the winner of the Main Event.

On top of that, the new sponsors are giving a £550 GUKPT seat to the winner of the £100+£10 High Roller event, as well as five further seats to the best performing university.

This year’s UK Student Poker Championships will take place inside the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, between March 25 and 28.

Ask Selbst Anything

If you’ve ever wanted to peek inside a successful poker player’s mind and know what it takes to climb the GPI ranks, then make sure you visit reddit later today.

Following in the footsteps of Antonio Esfandiari and Tom Dwan, Vanessa Selbst will be visiting the popular forum to host an Ask Me Anything (AmA) session.

Like previous poker pros that have opened themselves up to questioning, Vanessa is doing it partly for fun and partly to give people an insight into her life.

Vanessa will start fielding question at 17:00 EST and fans are encouraged to join the discussion.
