WSOPC Caesars Plays Final Table

The World Series of Poker Circuit stop at Caesars Palace brought quite a few players to the Las Vegas poker room. The $1,675 NLHE Main Event brought in 697 players for a $1,045,500 prize pool.

Day 2 started with 129 remaining players, broke through the money bubble so the top 72 could be paid, and moved forward toward a final table. However, the tournament stopped with 14 players still in action, and Michael Ma had the chip lead.

William Chao was the first player eliminated on Day 3, followed by Philip Woerner, Ben Keeline, Chris Bonita, and Joseph Elia. The official final table then began with Jonathan Gaviao in the lead.

WPT LA Poker Classic Nears Money

When the World Poker Tour took its action to the Commerce Casino on March 1, the WPT L.A. Poker Classic was on tap with a $10K buy-in, no reentries, and registration open through the first seven levels.

Day 1 attracted 501 players but more were added on the second day to bring the tournament total to 534 players. The prize pool was set at $5,126,400, enough to pay the top 63 players and give over $1 million to the winner.

Day 2 ended with 172 players, and Day 3 thinned the field toward the money bubble. With less than 100 players, some who exited included Daniel Steinberg, Matt Hyman, and Joey Weissman. Play moved on with Allen Pock as the chip leader with 78 players remaining.

SPT Partners with PPC Poker Tour

The Senior Poker Tour is a series of tournaments in the United States for players 50 and older. And late last week, it partnered with the PPC – the Players Poker Championship Poker Tour – as the official senior event of the series.

The extent of the partnership is unclear, but SPT noted that its first event will be on March 11 at Tampa Bay Downs in Florida. The tournament will be a $120 NLHE. And tour will meet up with the PPC Championship in Aruba in October 2014 to host a seniors-only event.
