WSOPC Lac-Leamy Ends Registration

The World Series of Poker Circuit in Gatineau was a feast for Canadian players, and the Casino Lac-Leamy hosted the $1,675 NLHE Main Event that began on November 19.

The beginning flights brought in several hundred people, only 185 of whom remained to start Day 2. Registration remained open at that point, and when it closed, the field was set at 371 entries and the prize pool at $556,500. Play continued to burst the bubble just after dinner, and the top 45 players were in the money. Daniel Charette was the chip leader then with 435K.

WPT Caribbean Begins

The World Poker Tour Caribbean tournament set up on November 19 at the Casino Royale in Maho Bay on the island of St. Maarten. The $3,500 Main Event allowed reentries.

Day 1A attracted 75 players, and another 116 came in on Day 1B. The field was set at 191 players, but only 107 of them made it through to Day 2.

Ebony Kenney started Day 2 as the chip leader. A bit later in the day, the prize pool was announced at $592,864, which was enough to pay the top 24 players and give $145K to the winner. By the dinner break, there were still 72 players in action.

LAPT Uruguay Sets Field

The Latin American Poker Tour‘s sixth season had reached its grand finale when it landed in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The $2,500 buy-in NLHE Main Event began at the Mantra Resort with reentries allowed throughout the first day of play.

When Day 1 ended, the final numbers revealed 508 entries and a $1,133,340 prize pool. The top 80 players were set to be paid a minimum of $3,540, and the winner was guaranteed $238,260. Action moved along quickly, and only 167 players remained at the end of the night.

ANZPT Auckland Establishes Prize Pool

Season 6 of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour began in Auckland at the SKYCITY Auckland Casino this week, and the NZD $2,200 buy-in Main Event offered three starting days for its action.

Day 1A brought in 44 players, though exactly half of them were eliminated throughout the day with Eric Chang atop the leaderboard with 95,100 chips. Day 1B brought in another 66 players, and there were 32 at the end of that flight with Anesone Bragouits leading with 106,600 chips. Day 1C brought in a field of 103 players on November 22.

The field was then set with 213 players, which created a prize pool of NZD $426,000. The top 24 players were to be paid with more than $110K set aside for the winner.
