Zhao Wins APT, Karambinis Wins in Chicago, CPPT bestbet First Results

The Asian Poker Tour was alive and well in Pasay City for its Philippines stop. Resorts World Manila hosted the events from April 30 to May 7, featuring the $2,700 buy-in Main Event with reentries May 3-7.

The tournament drew a total of 208 entries, which created a prize pool of $504,400. The top 27 players were paid, but it was Feng Zhao of Singapore who won the tournament and top prize.

Results:

1st place: Feng Zhao ($126,500)

2nd place: Inaki Joseba Santos ($72,600)

3rd place: Jiajie Liang ($49,400)

4th place: Hyeong Wook Choi ($35,300)

5th place: Riyadh Mustapha Fawaz ($28,800)

6th place: Huy Pham ($23,200)

7th place: Michael Marvanek ($18,700)

8th place: Mikal Blomlie ($15,100)

9th place: Bryan Huang ($12,600)

Chris Karambinis Wins Chicago Poker Classic Title

The sixth annual Chicago Poker Classic started with the first of 10 tournaments, and it offered a $350K NLHE event with reentries, eight starting flights and a $1 million guarantee.

There were 3,092 entries in all, and the prize pool was $927,600, but the guarantee forced the host to add to the prize pool to make it an even $1 million, creating an overlay for the players.

Results:

1st place: Chris Karambinis ($168,039)

2nd place: Oleg Badmayev ($103,104)

3rd place: Igor Hot ($66,895)

4th place: Jared Palmer ($46,208)

5th place: Shawn Rice ($32,806)

6th place: Javier Figueroa ($24,114)

7th place: Ryne Johnson ($17,723)

8th place: Aaron Garrison ($14,512)

9th place: Nick Jivkov ($11,882)

10th place: Andrzej Rogowski ($9,728)

The series offers a $1,500 NLHE Main Event with a $1 million guarantee that begins May 9.

CPPT bestbet Jacksonville Finds First Four Winners

The Card Player Poker Tour was at bestbet Jacksonville in Florida for its latest Season 2 stop, and the first four tournaments have already found their winners.

Event 1 was a $350 NLHE with a $100K guarantee, and it garnered 494 entries. Matthew Oswalt came out on top for a $34,086 payday. Kristin Budreck won Event 2, a $200 All-In or Fold tournament, and Ed Russ captured the Event 3 $240 Limit Omaha-8 title. Shawn Sorgi won Event 4, a $240 NLHE event, for $4,900.

The Main Event of the series will kick off on May 9 with a $1,500 buy-in and $300K guarantee.
