Genting Poker Tour Hits Sheffield

The Genting Poker Tour’s Sheffield leg kicked off on Wednesday’s and, after two opening days of action, a total of 233 players had taken to the felt to contest the £440 Main Event.

Added to today’s collection of players, the total number of runners currently stands at 310 with the registration desk  still open.

With a guarantee of £100,000 before the cards were in the air, the surviving players are now competing for a slice of at least £124,000 as Day 1C moves towards a conclusion ahead of Day 2.

Last season a field of 562 took part in the event and when the chips had fallen it was Hasmukh Khodiyara scooping the £224,800 top prize.

This time around the likes of Barny Boatman (181,200), Paul Jackson (149,300), Julian Thew (67,600) and Joe Beevers (46,200) have all made it through their opening sessions with healthy stacks.

However, for all the British talent on display, it is James Clark who currently tops the chip chart with an imposing stack of 446,800.

Tendler Talks Live Poker

Much of the training material available in the poker worldover the last few years  been geared towards the online world. Indeed, the risein popularity of the virtual game has prompted an explosion of online training sites.
