GPI #WSOP14 Daily | Day 6

Rising star Kyle Cartwright and seasoned veteran Tuan Le both picked up WSOP bracelets on Saturday while records were shattered in the Millionaire Maker … oh and Phil Hellmuth is at a final table – no biggie! …

CARTWRIGHT, LE WIN GOLD

A 2M USD prize pool was split between 243 players as 2,223 paid $1,000 for their chance at a bracelet. Rising star Kyle Cartwright (GPI#984) was the eventual winner, earning the biggest payday of his career to date, $300,278. This was Cartwright’s first victory on the live tournament circuit since his win at WSOP Circuit Biloxi in August of 2012.

Meanwhile, a star-studded final table would do battle in the Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball event as two-time WPT Champion Tuan Le would defeat former World #12 Justin Bonomo (GPI#123) heads-up for the bracelet.

World #10 Jason Mercier, Eli Elezra, Nick Schulman, Phil Galfond and George Danzer also final tabled the event.

MASSIVE MILLIONAIRE MAKER

The Millionaire Maker event drew just under 8,000 participants, making it the second largest WSOP event of all-time!

Andrew Seidman (GPI#15518) is the chip leader as Day 2 play will begin with approximately 1,500 players still in contention.

MORE ACTION!

Two new tournaments today, another 1K NLH event makes its way onto Sunday’s schedule as does the Omaha Hi-Low Split-8 or Better 10K buy-in tournament, where many of the game’s top stars are expected to play.

We’re playing down to a winner in the NLH Shootout where former WSOP Main Event Final Table participant – and two-time bracelet winner – Josh Arieh (GPI#892) and 2013 PCA Main Event Champion Dimitar Danchev (GPI#61) and 10 others will hope that today is their day.

Over in the Seven Card Razz event, Phil Hellmuth (GPI#328) will attempt to add to his record 13-bracelet victories as the final table is set. Hellmuth will enter the final table ranked second in chips, trailing only Greg Pappas (GPI#73224) in chips.
