GPI300: Charania Charges Up, WSOP Champ Moves In
WPT Grand Prix de Paris Champion makes a move and the WSOP World Champion moves in this week:
VIEW FROM THE TOP
But first, let’s look at the top of the heap where we make it two weeks in a row at #1 for Daniel Negreanu (GPI#1, -). The German duo of Marvin Rettenmaier (GPI#2, +1) and Ole Schemion (GPI#3, -1) swap places at #2 and #3.
After a week out, American teammates Noah Schwartz (GPI#9, +5) and David Sands (GPI#10, +1) are back in the Top 10. We had already predicted a move up by Schwartz following his sixth place finish at the 2013 Isle Open in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Paul Volpe (GPI#13, -4) and Stephen O’Dwyer (GPI#15, -7) drop from the Top 10 this week. O’Dwyer had been active inside the Top 10 since April.

A successful trip to the WPT Grand Prix de Paris allowed Jean-Noel Thorel (GPI#176, +102) to make the biggest jump inside the 300 this week. Speaking of the Grand Prix de Paris, Main Event Champion Mohsin Charania (GPI#35, +42) moving inside the Top 50 up to #35. Given Charania’s pedigree, don’t be shocked if he doesn’t challenge for a spot in the GPI Top 10 in the coming months.
Max Silver (GPI#200, +91), WSOP bracelet winner Trevor Pope (GPI#127, +73) and Jonathan Karamalikis (GPI#138, +73) are amongst those who make a big push this week.

DOWN THE LADDER
For the sixth week in a row, US pro Keven Stammen (GPI#214, -68) takes a fall in the standings. Stammen had such a successful 2012 fall season that as those results continue to lose value, Stammdogg stumbles down.
Expecting father Jake Cody (GPI#277, -61) and the Australian duo of Grant Levy (GPI#257, -49) and Aaron Lim (GPI#209, -35) are three of the players who join Stammen on this week’s list.

World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Ryan Riess (GPI#236, +104) re-enters the GPI300. Riess had spent a few weeks inside the 300 following his 68th place finish at the WPT Borgata Poker Open. We’ll have to wait and see where Riess lands next and whether or not he will be able to improve on his current ranking in the next few months.
Coming off a successful trip to Macau to play the 2013 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), online poker superstar Randy Lew (GPI#270, +185) makes a return to the GPI300. Lew was last part of the 300 in the summer.
