July 2014 GPI Player of the Month: Chance Kornuth

Chance Kornuth GPICongratulations go out to Chance Kornuth – Global Poker Index Player of the Month for July 2014:

Kornuth (GPI#192) earned three cashes in July,  starting the month with a cash in one of the final events at the 45th World Series of Poker, in the 10K Pot-Limit Omaha event.

He then moved down the Las Vegas strip to the Bellagio where he would pick up his first victory on the live tournament circuit in almost three years, winning the 10th edition of the Bellagio Cup.

The Colorado-born pro would close things out by final tabling the Main Event at the Florida State Poker Championships, finishing 8th, ending the month a $562,220 windfall.

Closing out the World Series of Poker with a pair of significant cashes, including 52nd place finish in the Main Event, saw Isaac Baron (GPI#62) finish second in the Player of the Month race for July. After a very slow 2013, Baron has enjoyed a resurgence on the live tournament circuit this year. He has collected over $1.3M so far this season, already eclipsing his previous career best year.
