Results From The 13th GPI European Poker Awards + PokerStars.TV Feature
Deauville, France – January 30, 2014
The 13th edition of the Global Poker Index European Poker Awards were held last night at the Salle des Ambassadeurs inside Le Casino Barrière in Deauville, France.
The big winners of the night included 2013 GPI Player of the Year Ole Schemion, who won the Live Tournament Player of the Year Award, Best Tournament Performance winner Philipp Gruissem as well as legendary UK pro Barny Boatman, who was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
World Series of Poker Europe Main Event Champion Adrian Mateos Diaz, who was presented with the GPI National Spain Player of the Year trophy to start the day, would win a second award later in the evening earning Rookie of the Year honours.
In all, 18 awards were presented to European players, industry leaders, festivals and to some of the hardest working people in the business, the dealers!
