APAC Event 4 Sets Final, Poker Player MMA Fight

WSOP APAC Event 4 Sets Final Table

Event 4 of the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific was a $5,000 buy-in NLHE 6-Max, the last bracelet event available before the Main Event. Action started on April 9, and when registration completed by the start of Day 2, the field was set at 167 players for a prize pool of $835K. The top 18 players were to be paid.

The money bubble burst on Day 2, after which Day 1 chip leader Ben Wilinofsky exited in 14th place, Jonathan Karamalikis left in 13th, and Dominik Nitsche in tenth. Binh Nguyen then bubbled the final table.

That final was set for April 11 with Brendon Rubie in the lead. All of the players were seated with their chip counts as follows:

Seat 1: Jason Gray – 159,000

Seat 2: Billy Seri – 145,000

Seat 3: Brendon Rubie – 577,000

Seat 4: Sam Higgs – 168,000

Seat 5: Andy Lee – 412,000

Seat 6: Aarom Lim – 600,000

Seat 7: Jan Suchanek – 463,000

Robl and Alvarado Up for MMA

Two well-known poker players have announced that they will fight, mixed martial arts style. Andrew Robl and JC Alvarado have agreed via Twitter that their MMA fight will be for a “huge bet.”

According to Alvarado, the fight will take place late this year in Thailand or early next year. He claims to be the underdog, weighing in at over 170 pounds to start. Details of the match will likely be released soon.
