Babakhani Wins WPT Canada, Meet Tiger Woods

What started with 735 entries finished on May 9 with only one winner – Amir Babakhani. The PartyPoker WPT Canadian Spring Championship was a $3,300 NLHE reentry tournament that paid out the top 72 players but saved more than CAD $440K for the last player standing.

The final table took place on May 9 with Babakhani as the original chip leader of the six players. There were many double-ups and a total of 145 hands at the final table, and Babakhani emerged victorious. The final table payouts were as follows:

1st place: Amir Babakhani ($442,248)

2nd place: Barry Kruger ($272,555)

3rd place: Jason Duval ($199,029)

4th place: Bobby Liang ($136,700)

5th place: Martin Leblanc ($102,251)

6th place: Jonathan Bardier ($81,767)

Play Poker with Tiger Woods

The World Poker Tour is hosting a charity poker tournament in partnership with the Tiger Woods Foundation on May 17 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. The $10K buy-in event will offer prizes like a chance to play in a Pro-Am golf event with Tiger Woods. All proceeds benefit the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Southern California.

The charity tournament is capped at 50 players, and some of the confirmed participants include Tiger Woods, Phil Hellmuth, and Doyle Brunson. Players registered for the event will also receive complimentary tickets to a Kid Rock concert in Las Vegas and two nights’ accommodation at Mandalay Bay.
