Daily WSOP: Event #2 and #3 Seat Assignments, Chip Counts and GPI Rankings

The first two “open event” bracelets of the summer will be handed out later today at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino.

After Chad Holloway’s “win for the people” in the Casino Employees event, we turn our attention to Event #2 – the 5K NLH 8-Handed final table and Event #3 – the NLH Re-Entry event that is expected to play down to the bracelet today.

In the Amazon Room, the ESPN stage is set to host what could very well end up being one of the best final tables this summer as some of the top young guns in the game will battle for the bracelet in the 5K 8-Max event.

Trevor Pope (GPI#452) leads the way, holding a boatload of chips (almost half of the chips in play) – he has so many chips that he may not be beatable today … although other big name pros David Vamplew (GPI#92), Dan Kelly (GPI#132), Darryl Fish (GPI#238) and recent WPT World Championship Final Table participant David Peters (GPI#104) will certainly look to stop Pope in his tracks.

Meanwhile, Scott Seiver (GPI#21) highlights the heavyweights still in contention in NLH Event #3. A win and Seiver would become the first player this year to wage war atop the GPI Rankings. Currently in 21st position overall on the GPI 300, Seiver could be looking at making a significant move up the standings.

Other top pros still in contention include Dermot Blain (GPI#185), Nam Le (GPI#337), Vladimir Geshkenbein (GPI#781) and Ivey Poker pro Jonathan Tamayo (GPI#791).

Seth Berger (GPI#4277) has the top stack heading into final day play. He is the only player close to a million chips at 999,000.
