Doyle Joins HPT, WSOP Day 16 Updates

Doyle Brunson Joins HPT Broadcasts

The Heartland Poker Tour announced that Doyle Brunson will be joining the broadcast team in the form of releasing his personal poker history through interview segments. They will air in upcoming episodes of the HPT, and the segments will be sponsored by acePLAYpoker.com. Stories include those of 50 years with his wife, personal memories of his poker career, and how it feels to approach his 80th birthday.

“A Poker Life” was recently filmed in Las Vegas and will complement the HPT episodes going forward.

Day 3 began with 22 players but lost some like Jennifer Harman, Maria Ho, and Kevin Zhang on the way to the final table. The tenth place bustout of Dale Beaudoin set that table, which showed Can Kim Hua as the chip leader. The action then played out as follows:

Day 3 started with 13 players remaining, but as players like Erik Seidel and Nick Schulman hit the rail, the final table was set with Martin Finger as the chip leader. Ultimately, a very late night led to Finger claiming the win.

Day 2 played from 117 players down to the final nine, as Michael Genovese exited in tenth place and Noah Schwartz took the lead of the final nine.

Day 1 saw the field diminish from 106 players to only 10, and the last two tables were set with Frank Kassela in the chip lead with 331,500.

Event 24: $1500 NLHE (Day 1 of 3)

Players: 1,731

Prize pool: $2,336,850

Players paid: 198

Day 1 started the action and moved all the way to the bubble, which burst to end the day and leave all of the remaining players in the money. Paul Wasicka led the group with 140,100 chips.

Event 25: $5,000 Omaha H/L Split-8 (Day 1 of 3)

Players: 241

Prize pool: $1,132,700

Players paid: 27

Day 1 lost a few players and ended the night with 152 players and Hal Klein in the lead with 77,100 chips.

Event 26: $1,000 Seniors NLHE Championship (3-day) beginning at 10:00pm PT

Event 27: $3,000 Mixed Max NLHE (3-day) beginning at 5:00pm PT

Events 22 and 23 will play to a winner.

Events 24 and 25 will play the second of three days.
