Duracell Powers Up EPT Players

Members of the poker media will have one less responsibility when EPT10 kicks-off in Barcelona on Monday. It is not uncommon to see a dozen poker player cell phones charging up in media rows and press boxes anywhere on the live tournament circuit. Smart Phones and tablets have become a lifeline for the grinders of the felt, which is why the European Poker Tour has partnered with Duracell in order to become the first live tour to offer free wireless charging to its players.

HOTSPOTS ON THE SPOT

Duracell Power MatDuracell Powermats wireless charging hotspots will be added to each EPT10 table, each player will have self-serve “station” with a drink holder and a Duracell Powermat charging mat … if you already have the Duracell Powermat phone case, then you’re set, place your phone on the mat and charge up wirelessly! Those that don’t have the Duracell-designed case will have power connectors provided to them.

EPT President Edgar Stuchly added the following: “Smart phones are an essential part of a live tournament player’s kit, and a dead battery can be a disaster if you’re seated for hours at a poker table. The EPT prides itself on offering the best player experience of any poker tour, so providing individual wireless charging for each player at the table is a natural progression to free Wi-Fi, which we introduced in Season 9.”
