EPT London: My Team Down to Three in London Town

FPM logoDay 3 play has ended at the Grosvenor Victoria Casino and with 32 players remaining at EPT London, I will have a total of three players coming back to the Vic on Thursday.

I made my selections an hour prior to the start of Day 2 play and was confident with my 11 selections, including Marc-Andre Ladouceur (GPI#64), Michael Tureniec (GPI# 572) and Adria Balaguer (GPI#548), all of which had a ton of chips heading into that day’s competition.  Shockingly, all three players would see their tournament end on that day.

I was also really excited to add Paul Berende (GPI#59) to my team.  For the second time this season (following a final table appearance when I had him on my team for WPT Baden) I was hoping to have Berende run deep here in London – sadly, Berende also hit the showers early.

I was left with only fuve of my original 11 selections when Day 3 play started on Wednesday although two of the four – Chris Moorman (GPI#188) and Steven Silverman (GPI#127) – so things were looking up.  Moorman recaptured the lead at one point during the day, but alas, each player would finish the day with below average stacks.

I’m happy with Annette Obrestad (GPI#984) performance in the event.  With other players with larger chip stacks and bigger FPM Market Prices available, a gut feeling steered me towards adding Annette on the team and she has done a marvellous job so far, nursing a small stack for the longest time.  She’s not dead yet but Obrestad will begin Day 4 player as one of the short stacks.

Manig Loeser (GPI#142) was the only one out of my five players to make the money on Wednesday.  Loeser finished in 37th position, a very strong performance by the German pro.  Peter Jetten (GPI#1027) was eliminated earlier in the day, prior to the money bubble bursting so no FPM Points from the Canadian.

I do have to advise that I had a list of 20 players that I wanted to select for London.  It was very hard to cut down to 11.  One of the reasons I made these decisions was based on the fact that most of these players would end up playing in the High Rollers event should they bow out of the Main Event to quickly.  I’m still confident that the Ladouceurs, Ruzickas, Jettens and Tureniecs will make the 10K plunge into the HR – here’s hoping that they have a hot start so I can keep them on the team once lineups lock two hours after the start of the event on Thursday.

Let’s take a look at my official team for EPT London, which includes Moorman, Silverman and Obrestad:
