EPT San Remo by PokerStars.com – Day 2 The Women
Poker might be a male dominated pursuit, but women are just as capable as the men when it comes to 4-betting bluffing, laying down the second best hand and hovering up chips like a vacuum cleaner. Indeed, in the past EPT San Remo has been a proving ground for one of the game’s feistiest females, Liv Boeree. Back in 2010 she took down the title and banked the biggest payday ($1,698,300) of her career.
At the start of this year’s event a host of top GPI Top 100 Ladies took to the felt on Day 1, however, only a handful of them survived long enough to play Day 2.Indeed, while Melanie Weisner managed to make it back for the second day, she lasted just one hand and hit the rail after running A-8 into pocket fives.
After scouring the tournament area during the second level of the day we found some breaks of beauty in between the rather rough looking male faces at the felt. Still in with a shot at becoming the second female EPT San Remo Champion were Gaelle Baumann and PKR pro Sofia Lovgren. Even though the odds are stacked against another women lifting the trophy there’s no doubt these ladies are at the top of the game.
