EPT San Remo – Day 2: Side Action
What do you do when you’ve busted out of an EPT event and don’t feel like jumping into one of the many side events on offer? Well, depending on your preference you can indulge in a number of things.
At this year’s EPT San Remo the pros have been finding plenty of ways to amuse themselves before the call of the tournament table pulls them back into the action. Whether it’s degeneracy or indulgence, there’s been no shortage of action away from the rail.
Chinese Poker:
It’s the preference of the habitual degenerate and a game that often adds further financial insult to those who’ve busted out of a major tournament. Whilst wandering around the casino today we noticed one of the poker world’s most active players, David Benyamine, indulging in a spot of Chinese Poker.
With cards spread across the table he looked more than happy to while away the hours by spreading a deck of cards across the table and doing his best to fleece his friend of a few thousand dollars.
Interviews:
When you’re one of the poker world’s famous faces you have certain obligations to fulfil and often that means speaking to the media. Usually before the start of each day the PokerStars’ team of pros will head to the media room for a round of interviews and sneaky refreshments.
Cash Games:
Cramming so many poker players into one venue only means one thing: cash games. Even while the majority of the players in attendance are playing in one of the tournaments, the cash games have been packed. Indeed, earlier on today the queue for the games to start extended half way across the secondary tournament area. At the moment local grinders have been tussling with online sharks from across the world at stakes ranging from €2/€5 to €50/€100.
Car Spotting:
Away from the casino, when there’s no more gambling left to be done, the sites of San Remo are always worth a few moments of admiration. One of the most famous sites one display during this year’s EPT San Remo is a selection of Italian supercars. It’s not often you find three cars worth over £100,000 parked next to each other, but that’s exactly what has been parked outside the San Marino Casino for the past three days.
